Course Description
The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course is designed specifically for workers with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as correctional officers, childcare workers, security guards, maintenance workers, school personnel, hotel housekeepers, health and fitness club staff and tattoo artists. This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. Upon completion of the online course, students receive a course completion certificate that can be presented to employers. Who should take this course? The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course was designed specifically for workers with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as correctional officers, childcare workers, security guards, maintenance workers, school personnel, hotel housekeepers, health and fitness club staff, and tattoo artists. Students learn how to: -Protect themselves from blood or blood-containing materials. -Act quickly and safely. -Clean the area that has blood or blood-containing materials. -Tell their supervisor about the incident. The American Heart Association no longer issues paper cards. You will receive an email from the American Heart Association eCards@heart.org with your certificate which is valid for 2 years within 20 days of completing the course requirements.
